Agreed, it also didnt hurt that he was surrounded by great coaches.Well, said.Frazier was also big and pretty elusive, and a master at the option offense. Didn't hurt having guys like Stai, Zatechka and Wiegert on the O-line and a back-up like Berringer either. If JD would have gone down last year it would have been really, really scary.
It's more about the player though. Look at Crouch, he was surrounded by some pretty bad coaches and he still won a Heisman.Agreed, it also didnt hurt that he was surrounded by great coaches.
JD rushed 33 times for 122 yards and was 9-14 passing with 2 TD's and 2 INT's in 2003. Most of these stats were picked up late in games. I don't think he was on the field enough to say he was a very good or very bad runner or passer. However, I think he would have been and still would be more comfortable in the old offense than he is now, and I really respect the competitiveness he's shown this spring. If he's our starter again I hope he's improved as much as the sports writers and coaches lead to believe he has.Actually J.D. showed to be a very good runner his freshman year with the old offense. But because of the WCO and the fact that Callahan wanted him to be careful so he didn't get injured -- we had no QBs behind him -- Daily was hesitant.
How is that comment sticking to the post????????????? I guess some people get to post what ever they want to and others there post does not get posted. :steam :steamAgreed, it also didnt hurt that he was surrounded by great coaches.Well, said.Frazier was also big and pretty elusive, and a master at the option offense. It's a valid point IMO. He did have some good coaches if you look back at it.Agreed, it also didnt hurt that he was surrounded by great coaches.Well, said.Frazier was also big and pretty elusive, and a master at the option offense. 1seriously man dont mean to bang on you dude but Ive only been around here a small while now and Ive seen you say this like 5 or 6 times, do they really delete a bunch of your posts?
That is the sad thing about Lord, he was a pretty dang good "option" QB, he just didn't have the talent around him like Tommy, Frost or Crouch had. It's too bad for him that he didn't.This stat means nothing. Frazier had that something extra that only a few players have. I think even if we were still running the option Dailey would be average at best. You knew watching Frazier his Freshman year he was special. People hated Lord so much that they wanted Dailey to be special. Who knows though Dailey could come out this year and be good.
