Smothers quiet off the field, but impressing on it

The one thing Smothers might not be comfortable with yet? Making small talk. Verduzco told a story on Monday about how he sat next to Smothers for several hours at a dinner and the quarterback maybe said three words the whole night.

Smothers is also full go this spring for Nebraska after suffering some big injuries late in November of his high school season.

“He’s fast right now and he got faster since he got here in January because he was healing,” Verduzco said. “He can run. That cat can run.”  LINK
