Rachel Schwartz to coach High School VB

International Man of Mystery
I just saw Rachel at the Coliseum last Friday night when she and a bunch of other current and former Huskers (including the great Allison Weston!) were in attendance watching an exhibition match between Omaha's Slamwich and an ad hoc team of guys from Lincoln (the guys from Lincoln won, BTW). It's good to see Rachel sticking around Lincoln. She's such a cool person, and of course a huge fan favorite.

Former standout Nebraska defensive specialist Rachel Schwartz has been named the volleyball coach at Lincoln Christian for the 2010 season.
Schwartz helped NU to a national championship in 2006, a runner-up finish in 2005 and a national semifinal spot in 2008. Last fall, Schwartz was a volunteer assistant at Lincoln East, where she was a first-team Super-State outside hitter as a high school senior in 2004.

Schwartz has also coached club volleyball, worked Nebraska's summer camps for several years and helped at clinics around the country.

“With her background both as a player and coach, we think Rachel's going to do a great job,” Lincoln Christian athletic director Matt Farup said of Schwartz, who takes over for Pam Sutton who stepped down after four seasons.
SCHWARTZ!!! :)

I like The Schwartz too. Glad to hear she'll be involved in improving Nebraska High School Athletics.

Y'all should make a puch to get Mueller back in town. I would actually go to a volleyball game/match if she was coaching...or playing beach volleyball in a bathing suit.

As a friend of Rachel & an alumnus of Lincoln Christian, I'm very happy for both her & the school. She's a perfect fit & will do a fantastic job. And congrats to her as a newlywed as well. Busy summer for the former Schwartz.
