Rainout Suggestion - Open Practice in August

I doubt this would be feasible, but it's a thought.

At any rate, here's an idea how Pelini might be able to soothe some fans who are rankled about not having a spring game this year (credit goes to my friend and colleague Sean Callahan):


Make the annual Husker Fan Day in early August a two-pronged event. Give fans a chance to meet players and gather autographs, as usual, then make that day's practice open to the public. Hold the workout in Memorial Stadium. I'm guessing thousands would attend. Would it be so difficult?

Bottom line, never take for granted the positive impact Nebraska fans' relentless energy and enthusiasm have on the program.

Great thought, but it won't happen. Summer and Fall camp is not the time to show off a vanilla, basic offense and defense for the fans. Its the time to really get into the playbook and work on the little details before the season begins.

 
If it were done I would like to see more than a practice (I want a glorified practice, Ie. Scrimage) at least it is a day that already has some of the logistics accounted for.
