Ranger cabin in Rocky Mountains found full of frozen cows

It may take explosives to dislodge a group of cows that wandered into an old ranger cabin high in the Rocky Mountains, then died and froze solid when they couldn't get out.

Segin said officials are concerned about water contamination in the nearby hot springs if the cows start decomposing during the thaw.

The options: use explosives to break up the cows, burn down the cabin, or using a helicopters or trucks to haul out the carcasses.

You hit the nail on the head NU and its not just GRG that waste our tax dollars. Its not the elected officials so much as it is the bureaucrats that work the prgrams. If you can't do, you teach and we should add if you can't teach you work for the goverment. Wellfare cheates are smarter than most (99%) government stoogs and I'll gaurantee you the State Govt. in South Dakota is the worst on the planet.

I actually find this kind of funny. I know- I'm a sick person. Years ago we were up in the mountains with some friends from Nebraska for a weekend in a fairly remote, secluded place. When we got up the first morning, some cows had trampled a fence and there was a whole herd of them right up next to our cabin/house. Even though we were all from Nebraska, none of us had any farm/ranch exposure as we were city dwellers. It took us quite awhile to get them all herded back outside the fence. It added a bit of excitement to the weekend.

Don't they have zoo animals in Colorado that could help eat away some of the problem?

OK...the transport would be prohibitive, But it would still be fun to thaw one or two out and have a BBQ. Make a weekend out of it.
