Assessing the talent: He likes to think of himself as a all-around back. Very fast with good size. Can make you miss or run by you. (a.k.a. West Coast Back)

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 5% Loves the idea that Nebraska was the first to offer a scholarship to him. Says he’s quite sure he will visit officially in the coming months.

Cobb's going to be an awesom back. He's 6-0 and 200 pounds and still growing into his frame but he has upper body strength that many players can only dream about.

Cobb particiapted in the Nike Training camp that was held in College Station, Texas last year and impressed several scouts. He was amoung several players invited to the camp, which included Broderick Hunter who verballed to Nebraska this year. Cobb who ran a 4.4 40 yard dash at the camp, had a vertical leap of 36 inches. He also bench presses 250 pound (12 times) and has an amazing 500 pound squat.

unbelievable that a guy with measurables like that has only garnerned one offer. Any idea as to why? I havent gotten the skinny on this guy yet because i have been out of town, but i would be interested to hear about his stats and character (maybe thats why he isnt getting any offers?)

if he is that great of a prospect why haven't any of the Texas schools offered?

something is missing here........ :WTH

He has set up a visit on Sept. 3...

It looks like NU is loosing ground on DeMarco Murray, I still think we have a chance with him, but Cobb looks like the next best thing according to NU.

Cobb's a little stronger and bigger than Murray, but Murray is more fluid and quicker in his running style.

Missing on a big-time back like DeMarco Murray doesn't exactly hurt my feelings.

With the likes of Leon Jackson, Marlon Lucky, Cody Glenn, Thomas Lawson and Brandon Jackson having 3-4 years of elgibility left, I am not exactly worried about getting a big-time RB.

Although, if we were to get one I wouldn't complain either.

Good point, although I believe every single year the Huskers must target and recieve a commitment from a top back in the country

We need to recruit to needs a little more this year, allthough not to extent it will be in a couple of years. Last year we needed everything, so we went out an got everything. This year we can be a little more selective. I look for a smaller class with a higher standard as far as talent. Less of those two and three star guys to fill out the class. I would still like to get Murray though, that way we could pressure Jackson into moving to safety. ;)
