I don't think that we will see a realignment for quite some time. If they were to move Oklahoma into the North or on Nebraska's side of a division then they would break the Red River shootout tradition (which they won't do). They cannot put Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska all in the same division. We have a better chance of seeing a playoff system before we would have a realignment.

the current alignment works when programs are not rebuilding. Each division has 3 teams that have won the conference. Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M from the south and Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas State from the north. It has just happened to have 4 of those 6 programs have had to go through major rebuilding projects all about the same time. Untill last year, the split between north and south teams that had won the conference was even. It had been alternating every other season. So calling for re-alignment because one division has had a couple bad seasons is a bit premature.
