Who to go for? Let's think strategically here, not just with our guts, which of course want TX to get stomped upon at each and every opportunity. (Yes, I know I'm getting way ahead of myself here. Can't help it. It's fun.)

While it would be good to have TX rebound and be around #12 or 13 in the polls before 10/16, that means that we might very likely see 'em again in the Big 12 CG.

On the other hand, if OU wins out, that means a severely diminished 10/16 game; TX likely won't even be ranked. Sure, it will still be fun to kick their teeth in, but not as much fun as if there were more at stake.

Ultimately, I have to go for OU. If there is a deity in the sky, he will see to it that an undefeated OU meets undefeated NU (both ranked in the Top 5) in the Big XII CG, in one last marble game. Then we can all go merrily on our separate paths, and maybe see OU in a NCG again someday.

Thoughts?

I'm going for OU I want texas to come into our house limping like a wounded animal.

I picked Texas, I want this game to be in the national spotlight. No one will care if it's a 3-2 Texas team against a possible undefeated Nebraska team.

I want Texas to be as highly ranked as possible when they come to Lincoln.

OU. Sure, before this weekend, it might have been better for an undefeated UT to come to Lincoln, but the more I think about it, the more poetic justice will be wrought when a weak and bruised UT team comes to Lincoln, where the Huskers put them out of their misery, and undefeated OU/NU meet in the BXII CCG to play for a spot in the NCG.

It'll bring the evolution full circle, plus it'd be great to see Texas fall out of national prominence in just a few pathetic, short months so that we won't have to hear about the daggum longhorns again for many years. Also, that may hasten the breakup of the B12 (Which we all know is coming), and that means that OU will be the biggest hot-ticket item for either the B10 or the SEC...

Oh, good points. I hadn't even thought how this could cause the downfall of the Wronghorns via the imminent collapse of the Big 12 ... all the more reason to root for the Sooners.

If we have any desire to play for the NC Oklahoma has to win. We have to face an undefeated team in the CCG to have any chance at a MNC.

It Pi$$es me off, because I dumped a lot of money to come back for the Texas game, thinking it would be a battle of undefeated teams. Oh well just beating their asses will work.

:thumbs That's the spirit.

OU. I'll second the notion that we'll NEED to play a highly ranked OU squad in the CCG to bolster our SoS. Do you realize Mizzou might be our highest ranked regular season opponent?!? Clash of undefeated OU & NU will put the winner squarely in the conversation for an NC Game berth with SEC Champ, tOSU, Oregon. And, it'll be the only way for us to leap over Boise State, I'm afraid. Not to mention, as was stated above, it's really the only way to close out the BigXII.

Let us not forget, also, that the potential second order effects of Texas waking up Oct 17th with a 3-3 record, unranked, with zero national attention would just be too sweet. Have fun with the Longhorn Network. Could set them back years...

+1. Undefeated OU vs NU CCG is definitely the way to close out our time in the Big 12. :bonesflag:
I don't think OU will go undefeated this year. They're playing too wishy-washy and have yet to show anything on a consistent basis. OU didn't beat Cincy. Cincy beat themselves. They almost lost to Air Force and Utah St gave them a scare. Only game so far they've looked strong in has been against FSU

Since Texas lost, I don't really care much. I really wanted them to be undefeated coming into Lincoln. I reluctantly picked Oklahoma.

Wouldnt it be weird if we play neither Oklahoma or Texas in the BIGXII championship? Can you imagine putting a whooping on the aggies in college station then beating up on them again in the Conference championship game.

I'll be rooting for OU. Anybody rooting for Texas should sell your soul to the devil because thats what you're basically doing if you're rooting for Texas.

I could care less if Texas is ranked or not when they come to Lincoln because none of that will matter once we beat them.
