First thing, we need to change the name.
Spring Spectacular. Football Festivus. Big Red Carnival. Bo's Big Top.
Or, “Open Practice — if you have a ticket.”
We all know the spring game is not a game. We all know it means just a little bit less than the Rutgers game.
And yet we come back every year, analyzing and speculating and breaking down things that the coaching staff isn't even looking at.
Mostly, we come back because it's usually a nice day, and there's football, and the kids can run around and there's football.
That's fine. It's time to take the “game” out of this event and just call it what it is: Fan Day.
