relative national statistical rankings with Husker focus

Special Teams Player
I've shared details on what I'm posting here and, from this point on, the only difference is games against lower division opponents will no longer be counted.  There have been enough games played between FBS teams now.  Eventually, I might share stats from games played only between P5 teams as well.  I'm using cfbstats.com and footballperspective.com now for data and SOS rankings, respectively.  The Congrove SOS numbers I had used were based on the whole season before the games had been played (so that was a mistake).

A lot of good facts and figures there. What would be your two sentence summary?^^^

I don't really have anything figured out.  Mostly I wonder at how interdependent the stats for passing and running categories are.  E.g., we just played a team with the 4th-best offensive passing numbers in our conference but our "pass d" figures mostly went up, and by a considerable margin, because of the success they had running the ball.  The stats aren't who we are.  It's who we've been in the arena.  I want to believe that we can be better and that it's largely about consistency (because we've shown flashes).  If we can just make the Buckeyes earn all they get this weekend, that'd be something, right?

Yes that would be something.  4 quarters of consistent playing would be great to see. It has been a while.  The flashes are there because the talent is there to get it done - lacking either motivation, execution, or coaching.

Heres a good stat.

We are ranked 128th in 1st down defense giving up on average over 6 yards(6.**) on first down. Thats pathetic.

Yeah, I heard Sharp and Benning talking about that.  I'm not sure which sites have that kind of thing.  cfbstats I like because it will remove stats from games against lower divisions or even games (against teams from) outside the power 5.  It goes beyond that but you get the point.

I see that we are 50th in first downs per game and tied for 18th in first downs given up per game (only counting games played against P5 teams).
