Returned Tickets

Texas Tech officials said Nebraska has returned 900 of its allotted tickets for the Oct. 11 game in Lubbock. Those tickets are on sale to the general public. The game is approaching a sellout.
Now is this a sign of the times fro the Nation we live in or is this a sign of the times for the Husker Nation? I’m sure this has been common occurrence the last 6 years however this is the first time I’ve ever seen it in writing. If you ask me I hope it has to with the Economy and not the play on the field. But you never know. 900 tickets just seems like a lot to return back consider we usually sell all of them and then some. :dunno

I'd be willing to put money on it being a sign of the nations economy. Especially now with things getting worse. It just shows how this economy is affecting everything, even right down to sports. It's too bad.

texas is just a long ways to go and a lot of money to spend with the current state of everything.... plus for me, a kid i work with is going and i'm covering his shifts this weekend, and he'll be covering mine when we go to either ISU, OU or KSU

:yeah

Not only that, Texas has a lot of dry counties... :cheers :sarcasm

I think it's the distance more than anything. I'm sure when games that are closer, such as Iowa State, roll around, all our tickets will be gone.

I thought I received an email from NU Alumni Assn Monday (?) that tickets were still available through them for TT and ISU. Also, TT weekly media publication said Tech already had 500 tickets available.

I know it has been said, but Lubbock sucks and is in the middle of west Texas, not exactly a great part of the state.

last time NU played in Lubbock, gas prices were what? $1.50?

4 years ago gas alone would have been $105.00 round trip, based on 1400, 20 mpg, $1.50 per gallon.

with the same info, at $3.40 per gallon, $238.00

I am sure that it is the economy, but I would like to see if any get returned to OU

i was talking to the kid thats going down to the game next weekend earlier today and he told me that the tickets returned were actually an extra allotment on top of what we were already provided... also, he said every hotel is booked and what not, so maybe that is possible?

don't take that as official from me, just what he said...
