I have been thinking about this kid.... I wonder if it wouldn't be better to let this kid play. its seems obvious we could use him right now. I am all for RS kids, unless they can play. I understand wanting to have him later.... I wish I could have potters freshman year back to RS him. but one thing I think needs to be considered with this kid are grades. it is not an easy thing to be a redshirt(spoken from experience) both mentally and emotionally. It is tough to practice and not get to see the field(or court in my case) and considering that his grades have always been a problem I would hate to see him RS and then only get to play a year(or not at all) because he wasnt eligible.

Bo knows what he is doing, and I trust him.... I just thought I would throw this out there as message board fodder

From the way I understand, Ricky still needs to get his technique down. He plays so hard and balls to the wall that he loses leverage on alot of plays which leads to him getting beat. Now the next play he may put someone on their rear, but he needs to be more consistent.

I agree with Willie. As a lineman you can muscle a guy a few times a game. The rest of the game you need technique & quickness (hands & feet). The best lineman have that in addition to the pound for pound strength & leverage.
