LINCOLN The University of Nebraska athletic department has confirmed that one of it's coaches died in a car accident near Atlantic, Iowa.

Assistant women's soccer coach Peter Underwood, 31, was on a recruiting trip when the accident happened

My prayers and condolences to the Underwood family, players and Husker administration. RIP Coach.

Before becoming a full time assistance, Peter was the head coach of my son's high school soccer team. This a great tragedy as Peter was not only a great coach, but a great person. He is the kind of coach that fit the Husker profile. Competitive spirit with good old home town values. Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter's family and friends.
