Roach Retires from NFL

24 years old and retiring- I like how this guy played, but not having a larger impact in the NFL probably took its toll on him and he saw greener and safer pastures ahead. Good Luck to Trevor

I'm gonna have to call his uncle and see what's up. I know before he signed a free agency contract with the Bengals, he did talk about helping his dad out on the farm

Best of luck to him.

I was wondering what former Cornhusker had the longest playing time in the NFL. I thought maybe Mick Tingelhoff or the offense lineman for the Washington Redskins. He was one of the "hogs". Can't remember his name. Just curious.

Pat Fischer played 16 years at cornerback. For the Cardinals and Redskins. Don't think he had the longest career, but it was right up there.

My guess would have been Shields, but he did not play for 16 seasons.

The NFL is a business, and some guys find out that they don't like the business. When it is not fun that is the time to hang it up. From what I read he had a good chance at being a starter this year, or at least the #1 back up.

Best of luck to him.

Cory Schlesinger played for detroit for 11 yrs and Miami for 1

Irving Fryar. 17 years. 265 games. 215 starts. Released from jail last year after serving 8 months of a 5 year sentence. Odd data selection but I'm odd.
