Pat Fischer played 16 years at cornerback. For the Cardinals and Redskins. Don't think he had the longest career, but it was right up there.Best of luck to him.
I was wondering what former Cornhusker had the longest playing time in the NFL. I thought maybe Mick Tingelhoff or the offense lineman for the Washington Redskins. He was one of the "hogs". Can't remember his name. Just curious.

The NFL is a business, and some guys find out that they don't like the business. When it is not fun that is the time to hang it up. From what I read he had a good chance at being a starter this year, or at least the #1 back up.24 years old and retiring- I like how this guy played, but not having a larger impact in the NFL probably took its toll on him and he saw greener and safer pastures ahead. Good Luck to Trevor
