I like to make brunch on weekends. Today I made biscuits and sausage gravy/hash browns, bacon and eggs. I like sausage gravy over hashbrowns too, but, that is up to you!
My Favorite Sausage Gravy Recipe:
Slice How Many Green Onions, You Prefer, White Parts Only!
1-(lb.)-Pkg. Jimmy Dean ‘s Hot Pork Sausage
4 Tablespoons Butter
4 Tablespoons Flour
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1 Cup Milk
Pinch Of Cayenne Pepper Or To Taste
Salt & Black Pepper, To Taste
*** I added a little more Heavy Cream because I made the gravy first and I had all the burners going to fry bacon etc. so it needed a little bit more by the time I got done with everything! So eyeball it!
Preheat large skillet to medium-high heat.
***I use a Dutch Oven Pan!
Add the scallion whites and a tiny drop
of oil to skillet; sauté for 1 minute.
Add the pork sausage and break it up as it cooks!
While the sausage is browning. melt butter in a medium saucepan.
Once butter is melted and the foaming has subsided, add the flour; whisk until it becomes a nice golden paste, about a minute.
Add the the heavy cream, milk, cayenne, salt and pepper; whisk until nice and creamy.
Drain grease off the sausage when it’s done or just pat it dry with a paper towel!
Add the cream mixture into the sausage into the Dutch Oven; stir.
Serve sausage gravy over buscits and hashbrowns.
