Scariest Game of Next Season: Baylor

Now, hear me out on this one. Its not scary because I think we're going to loose. Obviously we have a greater chance of loseing to OU than Baylor. Whats scary about Baylor though, is they are gaining strength fast, especially with that new QB. They pulled out a terrible season this year, but they almost upset every team they played.

This is the problem: even if they were good...no one would give them credit. Loosing to baylor would be a season ending loss. Just good enough to pull out a victory, but bad enough it will ruin your whole season.

That's scary to me. Anyone else feel this way?

Baylor still doesn't match up with the talent they have and their coaching against the bigger schools in the conference. Art Briles is showing progress, but Baylor is not a career making school. The second Briles gets an opportunity to coach at a bigger name school he is going to take it, no matter how passionate he is about Baylor (Gene Chizik and Iowa State anybody)?

If Briles stays, Baylor will have some opportunities to win some games they probably shouldn't, but I still them being bowl ineligible next year and only winning against the weak teams they play.

:rollin

no but seriously. Baylor is getting better. Griffin is dangerous. He carries the team with dynamic play....but it's still baylor. Even though they are in texas...recruiting there is very difficult. They will continue to get better...but they are not "good"...yet.

I could see some upsets from them, but they could also lose half or more of their games.

I'm not gonna lie; this past season I remember yelling at the top of my lungs at halftime, "THIS IS F*CKING BAYLOR!!! WTH!!!"

I got drunk watching that game...seemed like I couldn't put the beer down because I was a little nervous. I do think they will be better this year, but so will we so no worries! lol

Griffin is pretty damn good but not amazing... our front 7 should be dominate and I'm sure Bo will get Griffin shut down better now that there is a lot of film of him. Hell just over half time Bo adjusted to Griffins style of play and shut him down...

I was thinking this too, but with improved speed on defense, Griffin should be less of a threat, hopefully.

If we win, we gain virtually nothing, but if we lose, we lose basically everything

Yes its still Baylor, but for how long? IMO Griffen will be the player that is the catalyst that turns Baylor into a respectable team over the next couple years. Will they contend for the south title? No. But they will start to finish in the middle instead of at the bottom.

Honestly I hope Baylor does well next year and I would love to see them knock off a few teams that have pounded them over the years, just not us! look at kansas and mizzou they have sucked sinse sucking started and now?

If Nebraska contains Griffen then it should just be a decent game. If Griffen has a great game and they play the same way they played in the 1st half last year it could be trouble.

did you just describe nebraska basketball? hmmmm........

Baylor's come a long way from the doormat of the conference. I think they've passed A&M and that's a good start for them, but to an earlier poster's point, it's just a matter of time before Briles leaves for greener pastures.
