Secondary

Have they fixed the secondary to put Bowman and Grixby on opposite ends yet. I assume Green, even though he wont be starting in base defense will still get plenty of time at Nickel or dime packages.

I think Elamassian basically said the top 3 or four guys are going to play. Your going to see a lot of different combinations. It seems to be Bowman is really seperating himself right now.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few different combinations out there to fool the opposing offense and keeping our own guys fresh.

When we play most of the Big 12 schools we may need to play a lot of Nickel. This will get the three best out there at same time. I think Bowman will start. You don't bring a :star :star :star :star :star Juco dude not to play. We need him to be as good as everyone says he is.

I thought all reports from coach said that Green was his hardest worker. I think Grixby will be at nickel. Green has the size/height over Grix maybe even the speed. And if you dont think he can hit a RB/FB coming around the end your crazy. Green will start. :horns2

He's one of the hardest hitters. He's a little more built than the other DB's obviously because he was a RB.

Though he hasn't been working with the first team yet, evidence suggests he is the real deal. And besides, as of Saturday anyway, there weren't first-team cornerbacks, Elmassian said.
"Right now, we've got the best second team in the country," he said. "We really do. We've got a lot of depth right now, and no one's been named a starter because Tierre (Green) hasn't played, (Cortney) Grixby's had two games we've won with and he's (Bowman) been a J.C. guy."

Bowman is a J.C. guy who is above the normal learning curve for an incoming player.

"My experience is, he's well above that," said Elmassian.

I dont know about that... Bowman might give him a run for his money at 6'2'', 210. Now that I think about it, those would be two REALLY big cornerbacks. I like the idea of both of them discouraging the toss sweep. :thumbs
