Shanle

On the Bowman touchdown Shanle could have easily laid Bowman out instead of running by him for no apparent reason. I think he did the same thing in the Kansas game. What was that all about? That would have been a vicous hit too... Is he scared to lay someone out?

I was bitching about shanle the whole game. Hell I'd take tiedke back right now. He was so lost and late the whole game. Totally agree he blew that play. He hesitated on the play action when it was 3rd and long, then I don't even know what he was trying to do once the receiver caught the ball. He should have laid out the receiver. At least it would have prevented the td.

One thing I've noticed about this team this year is that it seem like we are afraid to make a big hit. We just wrap the guy up and wait for help, which is slow getting their. Then when help arrives they don't lay the person out. As a defender that is the best hit to make when a guy is being held up and you get a 10 yd sprint to go lay the ball carrier out. I don't know how many plays I've seen where we are in position to make a tfl and we get dragged for a 2 yd gain.

Yeah really the only players you see really laying people out on every play are Brandenburg and, yeah that's pretty much it...

:yeah

I am trying to remember any more good hits, still thinking.........can't think anymore.

Brandenburgs hits vs Michigan last year were great. So was the hits by Rigoni and someone else on their punt returner, even though a BS penalty was called

I was wondering the same thing. Shanle had an open invitation to hit Bowman hard but he didn't. It almost looked like he was more concerned with Grixby than he was Bowman. Had he hit Bowman it could have been a momentum changer. Has it was, it was a momentum changer but for Okie State.

Yup, he really screwed that one up. That's for sure.

SHanle has had issues with keeping his head in the game. He has better physical tools than Teidke did last year, but his play wasnt as good.

We really need to focus on defensive recruiting this year.

I agree, I knew it was bad when I first saw it, but in a replay from the endzone , it was much more appearent that if he'd have taken the opportunity that the play presented, Shanle could have (and should have) sawed Bowman in half.He needs to get some stones, and throw his body around.

It was Shanle who had those 2 big hits in the Michigan game last year on the punt returns. Both great plays, but I think that was the last time he brought the wood to anyone..................

He would have completely desecrated Bowman if he had hit him. Maybe even knock the ball loose. Lets hope the team points that out to him in film study and he feels like crap for not making the hit

When I played safety that was the hits that a secondary guy dreamed about being able to make!!!! Receiver coming across the middle full speed, doesn't see you, and you have the drop on him!!!! I would have laid him the f#*k out!!!! If the ball comes out and I'm hurt so be it at least we get the ball back!!!! Oh well.........
