The one thing he said that really upset me was "hang in there".  I have no idea why it made me mad, but it did.  Anyone else?

It doesn't matter.  If the 2 big sports (football and basketball) are not going well, and they generate the most revenue and attention for a program, that is all that really matters.

Exactly, that's the problem we've been dealing with for a decade now. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Not saying Riley should stay here, but we've been stuck in the same rut forever now. If we bring someone in here they need to be able to run an offense and a defensive system that works with the players that are already here.

are you saying you're happy with a 500 coach who's living up to his record????  As for the AD, this is HIS MESS!!  he brought Riley in, he needs to develop a plan to fix it or be a man and resign.  as for other sports, its more he stayed out of the way.  Volleyball was fine before his arrival  The football program under his leadership in in the toilet.  I see no reason to say give him more time.

It is a success driven industry. Eichorst failed during the last coaching hire and then while giving him an extension.  He needs to be held accountable.  Fire the AD now and MR is officially on the hot seat (as opposed to just the fans being upset) for the season.  When the next coach is hired, it needs to be a big splash, but few names will be available during the season anyway.  Even after the season, how does a new hire occur while still paying Bo and MR.  However, the AD should not be able to tell people to hang in there after botching things to this degree.

This^   By saying this he is admitting that we suck right now.

I thought I read that they were waiting until December to extend Eichorst, so he did not get the extension.
