Shields Playing in NBA Summer League

Shavon Shields made his summer league debut on Saturday, as the Orlando Magic’s Blue Team fell to Indiana, 93-66.

Shields had two points on 1-of-4 shooting, two rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes of action. Orlando shot just 33 percent in the loss, including 4-of-21 from 3-point range.

Orlando will continue Summer League action on Monday against Detroit at 2 p.m. (CT). The game will be shown on NBA TV and on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

Shavon is a great kid and I am really cheering for him but his game does not suit summer league play in the slightest. Great team guy who always tends to make the right plays- but not the elite athleticism level needed to succeed in the more selfish/high flying/athletic summer league.
