Sirles v. Acho

Texas is going to try to take advantage of our wide line splits by sending run blitz after run blitz at us. I would love to see Watson start the game off with play action to burn those burnt orange punks right off the bat.
This is where I see the screen game being crucial. I think you're right about blitzes, so those little underneath screens and (shovel?) passes could be key to exploiting Muschamp's gameplan

[super innocent voice]But we don't have screen passes or shovel passes in our playbook.[/super innocent voice]

I hope Sirles enjoys the same success against Acho that he had against Harold. It's going to be fun to watch this battle play out.

Traditional I-formation triple option can REALLY hurt an inside run blitz. And then my all-time favorite play: option play action.

I'm not terribly worried about Texas' D-line. They're good, but I don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell of doing what we did to their O-line in the Championship game last year.
I have to admit I’m impressed with the Whorns D-line. Acho and Eddie Jones might be the best pair of DEs in the country——not individually, but as a pair. Their DT Randall is a good one too. Be a good test for our O-line at almost every position.
I don't mean to undersell their talent, but if that UCLA game is even the slightest indication, the 'horns are in for a world of hurt. We'll find out what they're really made of this Saturday.

This has been my Mantra for a while. If UCLA can school Texas, we should make them look very silly. Sirles is a freshman and 6'6' and 310 lbs. I will that over a 6'4" 260 lb-er anytime.

38 to 6. calling the score now.

QB roll outs is what I would do. Don let him be a sitting duck in the pocket we did some roll outs against ksu I knoe and it worked out fine.I'd be shocked if we didnt use roll outs against texas

It was kinda shocking the way UCLA exposed the Whorns. Still, the timing is gonna be different than what we've seen so far. We haven’t faced a real fast D yet. The K State defense was pretty slow. UT is not slow. When they walk up a safety or bring a linebacker off the edge T-Mart won’t have much time to react on the option read. The extra guy coming by Sirles or D.J. is gonna be a couple of steps ahead of where he was last week.

It’ll be fun to see what Wats has up his sleeve to handle to extra speed the Whorns will bring at us.
