This season marks John Cook’s 16th season with the Huskers…Took home his first Big Ten Coach of the Year award as the head coach of Nebraska… Claimed the outright Big Ten Championship and the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament…Dating back to last year’s championship run, the Huskers have won eight consecutive postseason matches…Advanced to the NCAA Regional for the 22nd time in the last 23 seasons…Held onto the No. 1 spot in 12 of the 15 AVCA Coaches Polls this season…Cook won AVCA Region Coach of the Year honors while at Wisconsin in 1997, and has subsequently went on to win the award at Nebraska in 2000, 2005, and 2008.
