NU Season Statistics (note: there are 119 teams)

Scoring Offense: 26.6 pts (tie-65th)

Rushing Offense: 92.8 yds (108th)

Passing Offense: 309.4 yds (12th)

Total Offense: 402.2 yds (53rd)

Scoring Defense: 32.8 pts (tie-97th)

Rushing Defense: 213.2 yds (108th)

Passing Defense: 279.6 yds (112th)

Total Defense: 492.8 yds (114th)

And, this was against Nevada, Ball State, Wake Forest and ISU --- arguably our weakest competition on the schedule (and USC and Missouri, perhaps 2 of the 3 strongest on the schedule). We have some really decent teams left on the schedule --- perhaps better, on average, than what NU has faced thus far.

ouch.....

Can one envision a defensive statistic that leads the nation ---- #119!

 
I've said it a few times, the scary thing is, NU hasn't shown one shred of evidence that they can tackle, stop the run, stop the pass, get pressure and sacks. Every team were going to face has this open spread offense. It's not looking good.

 
See, I have just one problem. Everyone wants Coz fired, but just look at our stellar offensive numbers. We put up a whopping 6 points on the #95ranked defense in the country Saturday. Coz is a flipping moron and there's no debating that. However, just how much better is BC's wizardly WCO? Can you imagine what our offensive numbers would look like if we didn't have Keller. I think Matt said it best when he was interviewed on TV and said these kids have given up or are not buying into this system. I think this is evident as we're going backwards in all phases fast!

How do we go from 24th in scoring defense last year (18.6/game) to 97th (32.8/game) this year? Is Cosgrove doing something drastically different, or is the personnel just that bad - or both?

there are 120 teams but that is beside the point these look like Baylor numbers not Nebraska. It is not ok to slip into mediocrocy even for one season make a change

agree, cally and coz have lost the kids. no getting them back now, they are just walking thru the bs!
