Souder gone!?!?!

Interesting, reports say he's leaving the program. Has to be mostly playing time. He also must see his playing time not getting any greater in the future. Callahan and staff focus a great deal of attention and reps to the top units, with 2's getting reps every now and then.

This just in from South Stadium …

Nebraska football coach Bill Callahan announced Monday that freshman linebacker Jeff Souder has left the program due to personal reasons.

A graduate of Bellevue West High School, Souder played in 10 games in 2005, primarily on special teams, and finished with six tackles.

He really was doing pretty darn good I heard. His coach said he wasn't happy about some things. He'll be a good player somewhere. He wouldn't of made played much this coming year but the year after he probably would of played quite a bit.

That's too bad, he was a fireball on special teams.

I agree. He would have panned out well if he would have stayed. Great athletes find the field somewhere.
Yeah, he already went from grey shirt to #2 at WILL for the Alamo Bowl. I wonder what made him decide to leave? In that article before Christmas he seemed to be having a ball knocking heads off, even if it was on practice and on special teams in games.

heard he was goin to UNO cause he wasn't getting back to omaha enough. At least he will probably start there. Good luck to him.

Rumors circulated that their were problems surrounding him during the Alamo Bowl.

What those were and if it played a role in this decision I do not know.

However, I wish Jeff nothing but luck. I certainly wish he would have stayed.
