I was surprised because all I could think about was that 07 Rose Bowl he got them to...but now that I look at it he's led them to some absolutely garbage seasons since. It makes sense I guess.

Firing Ron Zook is a stupid move by Illinois. They'll have a hard time getting anyone better. And I don't what their heartburn is over this year's 6-4 record is. Illinois has a long history of football mediocrity. Winning 60% of their games is actually a pretty good year for the Ilini, if you consider their history of crappy football teams.

I think a lot of this will hinge on his next game with the Badgers...but for those defending him and what not....I mean I was too until I looked at the records of those teams since the Rose Bowl. For some reason I forgot how absolutely awful they were. Even if you're just Illinois you should at least try for something better.
