Speedy Kenny Bell making an impression at receiver

If the guy who invented the cliché is somehow wrong and speed does not indeed kill, we have at least learned that a man with quick feet succeeds in keeping the conversation spinning.
Look no further than Kenny Bell. He's a redshirt freshman wide receiver. He hasn't played in a game yet. And because he hasn't played in a game yet, we've not heard him from him since he joined the Husker football program, per Bo Pelini's policy.

But Bell has others talking, and they're all saying the same thing: He's fast, faster than most.

It's that speed that made Bell a real tormentor to the defense last fall while he took snaps on the offense's scout team.

When asked last December who was making an impression among the scout-teamers, the first name out of defensive coordinator Carl Pelini's mouth was Kenny Bell.

I am predicting that Bell will have more TD's in his Freshman season than Paul had as a Senior. You heard it here first...

I've been impressed with the kid ever since watching his high school film. It's not just his speed that is impressive...the kid has sauce moves, great vision, tremendous instinct and is as illusive as they come. You may remember me mentioning that Kenny Bell would see some PT as a true freshman in my 10 bold predictions thread last year. Looks like I was a year early with that prediction. I can see him making an immediate impact in the return game.

Last year, I would have read and heard this and thought "Who cares he wont get to play" but this year it seems like the best players will play!

There is also a feeling that even if a guy isnt great at say blocking, that he might still get in the game ON PASSING DOWNS because he is a threat!

I'm going to wait for judgement on Bell. I seem to remember another receiver named Bell who was tall, fast and skinny who was supposed to play early and then disappeared. I'd say Kenny Bell is a step faster, but still needs to prove it on the real stage (obviously)

Kid still needs to put a little more weight on, but I do think he will be on the field this year. Speed like that should not be riding pine.

Everyone has to remember, the coach who only played WR's who could block like OT's is gone. I think Bell will shine in the slot.

He took a pretty good shot during the Spring game his first year here and decided to be a CB instead.

With all due respect, I think it was the coaches' choice to move him to CB. And if he's afraid of contact I doubt he's going to have much luck playing for Bo.

With that said, KENNY Bell is garnering more attention than I remember ANTONIO Bell getting. Hopefully he can back it up.

I would agree with this. Antonio got some pub, but Kenny's name is coming up in every statement, from coaches and players, not just from recruitniks and other press people.
