Spring game rewind

It's been slow with new husker news, so I started watching the spring game again. A couple comments:

1. Armstrong had the starters and was going against the second team D (and you know how great the depth at DE and LB is), and despite little to no pressure, he still made numerous bad decisions. After reflection, Armstrong didn't play as well as I remember.

2. Bush was going against the 1st string defense, and while some of passes were off, his decision making looked pretty good. Was put in a lot more difficult situations as there was very little run game and significant pressure when he was playing. After reflection, Bush played much better then I remember (and I was one who thought otherwise).

3. The sweep is very effective.

4. Punting is excellent.

5. Cross played well (not great, but well). I didn't remember much about him, but on rewind, he got quite a few carries.

6. The OL, despite all the talk, played well. The question is can they pick up blitzes and adjust to different schemes.

7. Darlington looked as good as I remembered. Not only looks poised, and in control of the offense, but places the ball where the receiver/rb can make plays after the catch.

8. How many passes did they make to Tolbert when he was covered? A fricken lot. (Bush's int was probably a planned throw to Tolbert in coverage - but yes, he did stare him down and didn't account for the safety).

9. Wilbon is good, very good. Put moves on the starting d.

10. Banderas was very, very good. I think he should keep the jersey he had on, and we should have two Gerrys playing at the same time. Seriously.

I think you are putting to much into the spring game. Yeah Armstrong didn't look good, but remember King Frazier looking like the best RB we had last season? If we see the same Armstrong we saw against USC, especially being improved due to the offseason, I think we can win games we shouldn't with him at the helm. I personally still believe that Darlington is the best QB we have that fits this system and has all the attributes of a GREAT QB. Just too concussion prone to build something around, I believe. Bush, too little seen to even make a true judgement against.

The only thing I personally take from the game, is how well our receivers can catch, run routes and how well our DB/CB's can cover. I don't think our DL was playing 100% either, and both sides of the ball were dumbed down.

I agree with almost everything you said. They were just my comments on the spring game.
