Stanley Jean-Baptiste

He hurt his knee in practice. Unfortunate, but it looked like Green and the safeties stepped up in coverage. All those sacks--coverage sacks.

Carl said Andrew started based on practice performance and prep over SJ-B not because of injury after the game

***Carl Pelini said Andrew Green got the start at cornerback over Stanley Jean-Baptiste partly because Jean-Baptiste had been dealing with tendonitis in his knee all week, but also because Green had a great week of practice in his own right.

"Andrew Green got the start and had an awesome game," Pelini said. "The light bulb came on for Andrew on Wednesday or Thursday of last week. He just looked really good in practice, and on a gut (feeling) we just went with Andrew as our starter, and he showed why. He had a great game, and he's really coming along."

Evans played decent too until he got hurt. Overall I'd say that this is the defense we were expecting at the beginning of the year. They've got their experience now and in addition to Pelini calling one defensive play for 80% of the game allowed them to just go out and play.

And just think. Green, Evans, and Stanley are all sophomores. I think we will be fine at corner for a few years.

Sorry to resurrect the thread, but I'm wondering if anything has been said about SJB's injury.

I'd love to know if he is gonna be back for NWU.

Its all about the adjustment IMO. We had safeties over the top so all they had to worry about was underneath

Looks like John the Baptist is #1 on the 2 deep tomorrow.
Sweet. I'm driving up right now from KC and my dad asked me of he woul be playing. I hadn't heard anything all week and it was much easier to ask here then try to look it up using my phone.

Thanks for the info and GO BIG RED!

Where are you seeing this? NU coaches have said it's a game-time decision if SJB or AG will start opposite Dennard.
