BRI should love this

So I was on my way to work this morning and a Kansas State Trooper was getting

on the interstate right behind me. (I do have personalized husker plates) He follows me

for alittle bit then pulls up next to me. I waited for a second then looked over at him.

He was holding up his ticket booklet and on the cover of it was the N with the huskers

through the middle. He gave me the thumbs up I game him the thumbs up and he drove off.

I was so pumped heading into the office it was like Christmas!

That kicks a$$

I'll tell this story for some perspective of cops vs populace... While patrolling one Saturday in a smallish western town I decided it was time to 'work' some traffic and shoot a little radar. So, I look for a spot to turn on my 'invisible shield' for my 'prowlcar', so I can then park and wait for a victim. Now, I generally only write paper on violators OVER 10mph and my policy has always been, "you got a good excuse for me... you'll likley get a warning". So, here I am listening to Nebraska on game day on AM 560 (fading in and out every time I turn a corner) playing another Big-8 school and it's in the days when NU was always good, usually beat THEMSELVES in fumbles and penalties and Dr. Tom was NOT yet a NC title holder. OK, you get the time frame and picture. So, I finds me a nice AM reception area to listen from. Beautiful warm fall afternoon. So, it's a 'big' game, right (every game was and is!) and I'm trying to NOT miss a lot of it. So, sure enuff, here's a guy clipping along about 20 over! (50mph in a 30mph) I quick pull this guy over and run up to his car (this, by the way, is the worst example of 'officer safety' you can imagine) and try to quickly get his DL and paperwork, right? This guy is trying to give me a good excuse and I'm reallllllly wanting to get back to my car for the game, right? (Again, not good Officer Safety). So, he's droning on and on and on with this lame excuse and I look at his DL and he's from Nebraska. So, I point blank ask him if he's listening to the game... He doesn't say a word, just reaches over and turns the volume up on his radio, WHAM, I'm right back INTO the game. So, he just smiles and shuts up and we listen. After this 'critical' play has ended, I get back to my car, find out he's not wanted, and has a clear record. So, I wait just a second or two until a station break comes on, get back up to his car, hand him a warning and his p/w back and tell him 'GO BIG RED!' See, the NU vein runs deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep people!

My whole thing with traffic violators is..................if you make me laugh outloud you WILL get a warning for the most part.

I bet i wont be able to catch a break like that with a big red N sticker on my back window here in okie land.

I had a MWC cop pull me over a couple of months back. He saw my sticker and said... You from Nebraska..??

Long story short the guy was from Omaha and WAS NOT A FAN OF THE HUSKERS at all.

So even if you get a homeboy from Nebraska here there are no guarantees.
