Sears starting against Florida

McConnaughey will start the second game

TBD on the third starter.  Bolt said it depends on what happens and matchups

So, they aren't starting their stud game one?

Not sure who they consider the stud right now.  Their stats for the year are pretty similar:

Caglianone: 4.35 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 68 SO, .217 BAA

Peterson: 5.83 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 63 SO, .251 BAA

But Caglianone seems to have struggled recently.  He started their third game against Tennessee a couple of weeks ago and got roughed up - 4 ER in 5.0 IP - on their way to a 16-3 loss.  He started their first game against Kentucky but only went 2.2 IP, throwing 64 pitches although he only gave up one unearned run.  Then only went 2.0 IP against Georgia, giving up 4 ER.  He's only been back for about six weeks after missing two years.  So perhaps he's hitting a wall.

In those same three series, Peterson went 4.0 IP against Tennessee, not allowing a run.  Then went 6.0 IP allowing 1 run against Kentucky and 5.1 IP allowing 3 ER against Georgia.

Looks to me like Peterson is the better bet to put up a good start and eat up some innings.

Hoping we don't run into any weather as it looks like storms today and tomorrow morning in Stillwater but should be ok by game time. Wind is supposed to be blowing from the North which means it's blowing in with the way the park is setup. Temps should be in the high 70s/low 80s which means should be pretty darn pleasant.

I feel the wind blowing in favors us. Shots versus bombs all day long.  I don’t think this is ‘23 version of the Gators, although recency bias says different.
