Pinkel said Suh has a nice mix of power and quickness.

"I can't imagine a lot of defensive tackles in the country better than him,'' Pinkel said. "I'd like to see them.''

Texas Tech coach Mike Leach then didn't argue with a question of Suh's presence possibly affecting his decision to start Steven Sheffield or Taylor Potts at quarterback. Sheffield is the more elusive of the two and better equipped to get outside the pocket and throw.

"Yeah, I mean, it certainly might,'' Leach said.

Of Suh, Leach said: "Good player. Can do a lot of things. They move him all over. We played against him last year and we were impressed with him last year.''
