For NFL linemen that is the way to go. I'm sure it has gone up a little bit, but it wasn't too long ago the average age of an NFL linemen was only in the 50s. It is a much smarter life choice to stop playing at 30 and making your money elsewhere and living a full life then playing til your 40 and dying 15 years later.
