Tailgating at JerryWorld

I went to Game last year and tailgated but one thing I don't remember is when do the lots actually open? I know it says on the website 4-5 hours before game time, but weren't they open before that last year? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

not sure, on open time from last year. I do know you need to buy the tailgate pass in order to actually tailgate (grill food, games etc). Drinking beer in front of your car does not count.
