Talent

Four-Star Recruit
the reason USC won was talent, but can someone tell me why after four years of BC's high powered recruiting we dont have the talent to even put up a fight against USC? I never expected us to win on talent but I did expect us to play like a top 25 team and put up a fight. It was clear that we got manhandled on the D line, but why after four years isnt there any talent on that D line? I always hear about the talent BC is bringing to Nebraska but I have failed to see it show up to big games.

Well, circumstances were funny. We had two defenisve lineman who would go pro anchoring the D-line. We couldn't afford to get the younger guys in because we were so dependent upon these guys to keep us in games while we transitioned from the option to the WCO. Now that we've finally got an offense (sans the running game) to be proud of, we lose all our defensive front, and play against a deep and experienced O-line out of SoCal. Our D-line will be a force next year when they've got all the experience and a whole ream of depth behind them, but my problem more is that we'll lose our LB corps and we'll be bitching about THAT instead. When, if ever, are we going to get a complete team in these parts? We lose Keller, our LBs, several wideouts, etc. What do we do then?

At this point in time I am not going to be sad to see our LB's go. Yes Coz doesnt always put them in the best schemes but what the hell have they done for us? Ruud is afraid to hit someone and McKeon always seems to try and arm tackle or hit someone straight up. Just my thoughts but i dont think it will be that big of a loss with those two gone.

I think the fact that USC won the recruiting battle on 56 of the 58 the two schools both went after is a telling fact. Sure, against them the recruiting isn't going to measure up. But over all I think Nebraska is making great strides.
