Tales From the Jerry Dome

Well I met my buddy in York around 1030 Friday and we were off to Allen, TX. (Suburb of Dallas for those of you who are unaware.) We made it there in 8 and a half hours. <_< This being because we somehow ended up in a convoy of Husker fans in Kansas, and averaged about 92 mph.

Being the poor college students that we are, we were cheap and stayed with my uncle who lives in Allen. Somehow they had forgotten that we were coming, and were not home. So while we waited for them to arrive back we decided to drive around grand Allen, Texas. My car had been fine the whole trip, and never has any problems (02 Grand AM, Real stallion for those who are unfamiliar :) ) But while we were driving around Allen, and after I made a turn, my blinker, or the ticking sound which you hear when the blinker is on, wouldnt go off after the turn was completed, and rather increased in speed. Although my blinker didnt stay on after, just the ticking. I tried everything imaginable to fix this while driving. ie beating the crap out of the dashboard. didnt work. and is still a problem to this second. Eventually we got all settled in and were ready for saturday.

Saturday started with going to my cousins middle school wrestling meet at Allen High. Holy god is that school huge. I cant even imagine going to a school of that magnitude. Anyways, I was rather tired of trying to act excited to watch bad wrestling in which the first person to shoot is going to lose, and slapping is a common technique. I was rather pleased to leave and get to the game. We picked up a few friends at a nearby hotel and then parked in our lot. For some reason they parked us in the back, while there was about a quarter mile gap in the middle. One of the girls we were with then went and talked to the bright parking attendants and got us to the front of the lot. Dont ask me how... :hmmph

After some tailgating we entered the stadium. Quick Grading. The stadium is the finest piece of metal I have ever seen. Its truly magnificent. The only problems I had were with how you are only limited to your 4th of the stadium. It would be nice to walk all the way around. I felt like I missed so much. THe other thing, concessions. I wont complain about prices. Its jerry jones. But damnit if im going to spend 5 dollars on a bottle of water it should not take 15 minutes for you to serve 10 people in line. And it should not be WARM!

The game started and our section was wild. We sat next to some great fans and also two texas fans. They were nice, but were also very narrow minded. And obviously didnt give nebraska much respect. The game was single handedly the best experience ive had at a football game. Ive never been on such an emotional roller coaster. And btw, we stood and yelled the whole time. We lost, but it was still a great game. One side note. What pissed me off more than the refs. Idk if anyone else witnessed this, but after Texas won and recieved their shirts and hats, one player made his way over by the tunnel where our players were exiting and taunted them with his shirt. I exploded. If I was one of our players I would have cleaned his clock. All in all the game was a great experience.

We left Sunday morning about 10 and hit the road. Made a pit stop in Oklahoma City and went downtown to the memorial, neat to see. Maybe I got a bad taste of it, but from what I saw that city is a real dump. Maybe you can tell me otherwise. We ended up looking up for a buffalo wild wings, ate, then left. I had to use the bathroom terribly bad and we needed gas, so we ended up at a gas station in a neighborhood which was not the most welcoming. I ended up going in an alley behind the gas station, with a fine mural of gang symbols and graffitti for me to look at too. We escaped thankfully.

Currently Im sitting at a hotel in Wichita, because the roads were getting too bad for my liking. I had seen enough accidents and had moved at 20 mph enough to pack it up. Hopefully it will be cleared up in the morning. All in all it was a great trip, and Im pumped to listen to my blinker ticking for the remaining 3 hours during the drive home tomorrow. GBR

You may have a bridged contact by grease on the multi-function switch located in the console of your steering wheel.

Ha I had a feeling someone would tell me what was wrong. I think if i tried to fix it I would seriously mess something up. Do you have any idea how much it would be to get it fixed? If its too much ill try it.

Me and my 9 year old son decided at the last minute to drive down from the TX panhandle where we live. We set out about 9am on Saturday and checked into a cheap motel in North Richland Hills about 3pm. I bought us a pair of tix off of craigslist from another Texas huskers fan who had extra tix.

We threw the football at the hotel out on the lawn and parking lot, and my son loves Alex henery and practiced his place kicks in the parking lot.

We then set out to the game around 4. Parked in a private lot just west of the stadium (a mile maybe). Played some more ball with my son, although I was freezing to death.

Ate us some CiCis pizza and then hooked up with my ticket guy at the game, who was so nice to bring a BRAND NEW Huskers cap along for my son and just gave it to him! We sat in the front of the 3rd club level on about the 10 yard line. Beautiful stadium what can you say.

All of the Huskers fans around us were super nice to me and my son. We had a GREAT time and this is one of the greatest games I have ever witnessed even though we came up short at the end.

All of the Texas fans I encountered were extremely gracious, they all knew that it was extremely close. No dissing, etc. Just real respectful.

I always enjoy seeing Texas play. It's really a class bunch. You can say what you want, but that is a class program. I absolutely LOVE Pelini, but I do wish he had a little more polish and class after LOSSES. Mack Brown is the model to follow on that front.

This was just a real treat. No regrets. Texas, go kick some a$$. We'll see you again in Lincoln in October, and Lord Willing I will be there!!!

Most of the time it is the multi-function switch. If that doesn't fix it, then you usually have to replace the relay that is on the firewall directly behind the AM/FM radio.

GM had a recall on this problem dealing with 1999-2001 Grand Am's but still neglected to fix the cause of the problem in their later models.

GM wonders why they went broke? <_<
