Taters and Coots, WTH

I have been living in SC for 40 yrs. and have always watched football and have been around these Clemson-SC fans foreever and have never heard the word Taters and Coots mentioned as a description, is this new? :WTH :moreinteresting

Apparently, the epic thread just got moved to a password-protected place...

Incidentally, "coots and taters" seems to have been around a while, but I only ever regularly hear the terms on tigernet, and the south carolina fan board at rivals.

You should just PM one of the mods or admins for a password to the woodshed. It is quite a funny forum. You can participate in the EPIC thread and check some of our past spats, such as a former EPIC thread with a certain Kansas State fan. There are also a few threads with neked women in them.

I got the password, and I'm involved in the epic thread, I just think that its pathetic and embarassing that one of our fans got the thread moved when it was going great before he even came over.

 
it was bound to happen, everyone has them (crude fans) we have some on this board (used to be on this board) no worries. I don't think that'll change our respect level for you guys :cheers

"Tater" and "Coot" terms have been around for quite a long time. Perhaps 10 years or longer. These terms first appeared on our respective football web forum boards. Those Clemson or USuC fans who do not recognize these terms or even those in SC that have never heard the terms probably have never lurked over on our respective football forums. Generally, these terms are used excessively on the forums but rarely in the general public amongst those either web ignorant or those who do not closely follow the Tigers and Shamecocks on the web. If you go to our respective boards you will see "Tater" and "Coot" used quite frequently.

The terms have spilled over onto other football forums and sometimes you'll see these terms used by our ACC or SEC opponents.
