I question why he is doing all of this. Is it just to get us to think he actually has committed and isn't saying anything or just toying with our emotions and in the end still sign with LSU anyways.
I think he's silently committed. Possibly waiting to see how the season starts out and whether we look respectable. Big factor in adding him and keeping the class together is to avoid our mob tendency to run coaches off. If (big ifs) we can stay the course this year, have a decent season with 6 or 7+ wins and keep the staff largely intact, we should enjoy a pretty highly rated class. Hard to get and keep highly rated recruits on board here when the coach is on the hotseat (i.e. Pelini & Frost's final two years).

Ahmad may also be waiting to see how LSU comes out and performs. Needless to say, he's not following Nebraska players and the program nearly this much if he's truly 100% committed elsewhere.

I Red somewhere on X today he’ll almost certainly visit again for a game day during the season, as well as a few other schools. As he should, but I’m completely lost on why top recruits want to play for Fire Lane, he’s burned the bridge down horribly at every single school he’s been at

There's also the whole basketball angle. Seems like a lot of moving pieces, probably smart to not make too many waves right now.
