I have a hard time seeing Bush going to TE, given all of the hype we've heard about him from people who had seen him practice.... Doesn't mean he wouldn't succeed there though.

There are people whom have seen Busn practice who believe he could very likely push for the starting QB spot. Mike Welch on 93.7 The Ticket says Bush is the best passer on the team right now.
TE is a concern though simply because how much this staff likes their TE's and likes to use multiple TE sets/formations. Cethan and Snyder seem like the obvious choices to start, but not a lot behind them.

Edit: forgot about Cotton. Good blocker? Sorta....but can he catch? We truly don't know. In Beckworld, the TE didn't exist. Truthfully, we don't even know much about Cethan Carter's abilities for that matter. Maybe Snyder comes in and knocks them both down the depth chart.

He went on to say he didn't think TE would be as big a part of the offense as it was at Oregon State, so if it ends up being that way I don't think the depth at TE will be an issue. I guess we will have to wait and see what they come up with for an offense.

I wonder if that remark is based on a perceived lack of talent, lack of depth, or the fact that it will take time to transition away from the current offense to his preferred offense?

Maybe he also has new ideas for what he think will work in the B1G.

I hear lots of good about Cethan Carter, but he'll have to show it because he hasn't yet been a weapon, even if it's no fault of his own. And Snyder will just be a true freshman. I don't think we have much depth here, especially proven depth, and especially if we're talking about using them in the passing game. Even with Cethan that's one guy, our of the entire group.

We have no idea what we have at TE, because we did not use them very much. We have 4 scholarship TEs. We have 6 walk-on TE on the roster, not counting what comes new walk-ons. Surely we can find a walk on or 2 that can produce.

I never understood the play calling from the last administration. Kyler Reed had a ton of td's and catches his sophomore year and then vanished. It's like they forgot how to attack the middle of the field. I think that's a huge area to exploit in B1G play and one reason I think Riley's offense will do really well. Matchups were huge in the nfl and I think they're going to be a big part of the offensive identity moving forward.

Looking forward to seeing what Snyder can do on Saturdays. He has the same measurables as Gronk coming out of high school.

Agreed about the usage of the TE's recently. How many times did I see the TE leave the LOS and 5 seconds later see our QB throw into double or triple coverage while the TE was wide open in the middle of the field? I have hopes this scenario is about to change.

It was a joke. Kyler had speed that made him a match up nightmare. I used to think Beck understood that, but having read what he said about TE's in the past, I think he actually believed there wasn't a place for the TE position in this college game. I know we used the position, but not nearly as much as we could have. It will definitely be interesting to see how we move forward with that position.

We say this having seen what the possibilities could be with a player like Gronk. But we should also state how genius Josh McDaniels is at utilizing Gronk and moving him all over the place and just creating those insane mismatches. Although, every OC before and after utilized TE's well at New England, the game plan and adjustments during the SB were some of the best I have seen for any offense. Definitely fun to watch that all play out, here's hoping Danny L can do that, too.
