Coming off an impressive sweep of Iowa State in Ames on Saturday, the Huskers seek revenge against a Texas A&M squad that beat them in four sets earlier this season in College Station.
Optimism reigned supreme in Aggieland after their huge win over Nebraska, but the team has stumbled in Big 12 play since then, losing 8 of 13 matches. The Corbellis (head coach Laurie Corbelli and associate head coach John Corbelli) are under increasing pressure, and many Aggie fans believe they will be fired at the end of the season if they fail (yet again) to make the NCAA Tournament. Right now they'd have to be considered a bubble team. They could use a good run down the stretch to ensure they qualify, possibly making Friday's match a defining moment for Texas A&M volleyball. The Aggies lose a lot of starters to graduation after this season, so it may be now or never for the Corbellis.
Texas A&M took advantage of a rash of Nebraska service errors in their previous match this season, and targeted freshmen Hannah Werth and Gina Mancuso in the passing game. John Cook changed the lineup as a result of this match, adding more passing duties to Tara Mueller, and the service errors seem to have been cleaned up a bit, so the Aggies will have to find another way to win this time.
