Never would expect this from a homeschooled kid..Peer pressure? or lack of?.

Does Texas still have an "express lane" for death row?..Might not have time to study this one adequately...Seems to be a major dissconnect in that he's more worried about his own expectation of nightmares rather than of the sorrow ultimately felt by friends and his Dad and older sisters.

Maybe some kids get dulled to tragic events / consequences from so much exposure to violence in movies and video games..Not many, but SOME kids??

I would expect it more from a home schooled kid. I have never known anyone who was home schooled who was completely 'right' always something a little 'off' with both them, and the rest of the family.
