St. George, UT -- Two robbery suspects thought they had gotten away with a pile of cash overnight in Midvale, but as it turns out they may have been a little too gullible.

Jared Colwell and three other men were just trying to sleep at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday when two men in ski masks busted in the door. Jared's brother Cooper was asleep on the couch.

The men in masks began yelling, telling them to get up and give them all their money, wallets, and cell phones. Jared says he was so shocked that nothing was going through his head as he handed over all his belongings.

The robbers left, but Jared and Cooper thought they may have recognized one of the voices as a friend who had stayed with them for a couple of weeks before.

So the boys came up with a plan. Jared figured they had his phone so he tried to call it a couple times, when they didn't pick up he sent a text message. The text message said "Randy, I really want my phone back. I'll pay you $300 for the phone right now."

It took twenty minutes before a response came back that said "Okay, let's do this."

The plan was to meet and do the exchange at a nearby Smith's store. To everyone's surprise the suspects showed up to the arranged meeting place and hid behind the dumpster behind the store.

When they came out to try and rob their victims of the $300, instead they found police who immediately took them into custody.

Justin Brooks and Randall Talbot were both charged with aggravated robbery. As for Jared and Cooper, they think it is pretty funny that their plan worked and the two suspects fell for the bait.

Okay so you may not believe me, but here it goes. I was 17 years old and in high school when some a$$bag broke into my car and stole my car stereo, my cd's, and a pager that was my mom's that she used for work. Well I called the cops and did the whole report thing and I got this wild idea to call the pager and leave my number and see if they called me back. I figured what the hell maybe they are really freakin stupid. Well needless to say about 20 minutes later I got a call from a guy saying "you paged me?" I said "ya I paged you a$$hole you broke into my car about and hour and a half ago and I want my f'ing stuff back!!!!" He hung up really quick, but I had his number on my caller id so I called 411 and got his address name and etc. I called the cops again, but they said all the detectives have left for the day and they wouldn't send a car out to go after these guys!!! So I took the law into my own hands and me and my cousin found this guy and beat the holy dog sh#t outta him!!! He had the pager on him, but had already gotten rid of the stereo and cd's somehow and wouldn't tell us where they were!!!! It was great criminals are morons!!!! :asshat

Some criminals are so damn dumb. I love watching/listening to Jay Leno when he is talking about dumb criminals. I can't even believe some people.
