This is unusual. USC is just coming off sanctions, Sarkisian is in Year 2, and he went 9-4 in his first season. That was a pretty close loss to Washington, too, was it not?
I know the standards are high at a program like USC, but this position seems a little extreme for a major national media outlet. Openly ripping USC and Sarkisian (9-4, 3-2) while saying Petersen (8-6, 3-2) should have had the job instead.
That said, it is kind of funny that USC turned down Petersen and went with yet another Pete Carroll offensive coordinator.
