The 3 point line has really screwed up BB. What ever happened to fast break basketball?

Ah yes, the properly run fast break. I remember growing up and watching the Magic led Lakers and the Bird and Co., Celtics during the regular season and in the playoffs. Both teams were excellent at grabbing a defensive rebound and what followed was pure poetry. Two or three passes with little or no dribbling and the result was a layup or dunk. 3-pt shooting was something that you saw coming out of their offense at times, but it was certainly not a system predicated on the 3-pt shot. I honestly believe that most of the players of that era were accomplished at the other elements of the game (fast break/transition scoring, ball movement, movement w/out the ball, post play and so on) because they played for longer periods in college and they played in a time when the 3-pt shot did not exist in their developmental years = they didn't rely on it.

I think its good, I like it. Gives teams like VCU a chance, It also has made Jimmer a star.
