The 3rd quarter to 4th quarter pump up kicks butt

Here's what's great about this - a lot of it started organically.

A few years ago we started holding our cell phones up with the flashlight on. I remember it as long ago as four years ago, and probably have a picture of that somewhere. I'll post it later if I find it.

Then there's "The Cornhusker," a 110-year-old song that is an official fight song written for Nebraska by Robert W. Stevens in 1909.

Here's the lyrics on Huskers.com

According to this JournalStar article by L. Kent, former Cornhusker Marching Band members who formed an Irish Punk Rock fusion band, The Killigans, revived the song in or about 2014.

(Read L. Kent's article - it's good)

That song was made into this video, which kicks my ass.

This is legit.  The stadium was only 3/4 full at this point but the atmosphere was still 5 star.  Once we start winning and more fans have the phones going and know the words better - i'm thinking about the time Oklahoma shows up this will be the best scene in the nation.

So, is the red just from lights in the stadium or are the lights on the phones red?

They just turn the LED lights around the stadium to red.

All of the stadium lights and all of the screens, including the light bars across east & west stadium, are LED and can do something like a million colors or whatever.

The only issue I have with it, it's only amazing for night games.  11 AM kickoffs, can't really get the effect of the red, flashlights are not really effective and it just becomes less than what it could be.   I would love something organically grown that would hype the crowd regardless of night game or day game.   I thought we were getting close with the 'Let Me Clear My Throat' but that seems to have disappeared with Frost.
