Typical.....Classless
What? You can post up and find humor in the conservative stuff here but this offends you? How about "No balls". :LOLtartar
No Balls? Somehow I get offended at a cartoon with dead soldiers as the punchline? If you disagree with the war, hey by all means debate it. Was there any thought given to some of the guys that post here that happen to be soldiers in this war or past, or had relatives or friends that have died in this war or past wars? I've personally had relatives that have fought in every war, from the Civil War to Iraq with exception to the Fauklands, Mogadishu, and Kosovo. Many didn't come home. If you want to criticize Bush, go right on ahead, I have no problem with that. Lord knows I've disagreed with a bunch of things this administration has done to date. I've disagreed with many things the last administration did (Mogadishu and Kosovo), but mistakes are always made in wartime. If Bush lied, why hasn't there been an impeachment process done? Democrats control both houses by considerable margins, so what's the holdup? I'll tell you what the holdup is. They will be taken to task for their votes, quotes, and hawkishness leading to the run up, and when it didn't go the way they wanted it to, deny they had anything to do with it when it became unpopular. You can't vote for it before you voted against it. That is intellectually dishonest in my book, and the sheep that buy into the damage control, excuse it. Every intelligence service around the world thought they had this pegged, but they were wrong top to bottom, left and right, and they should be taken to task for it. In every war, from the Battle of Bull Run, D-Day, and Iraq have had intelligence failures, but all that is for another topic. I was just sticking up for the soldiers only. Current soldiers cannot inject themselves into politics as explained in the MCC. You can take Bush to task for all I care, because they've screwed the pooch up to the point before bringing in Patraeus, and I've let all my Reps. here know about that and the excessive spending that is going on in Washington is unacceptable. I've travelled to 2 funerals for soldiers that have been killed to keep that loser Rev. Phelps and his a$$hole family and followers away, so forgive me if I get a little emotional about this. Between them and the Code Pink idiots I don't know whose worse. The classless statement was directed at the cartoon only, because the press can print whatever they want whether true or not without a thought to satisfy their personal agendas. The statement was not directed at AR or HuskerExpat, so if they or you took it that way I apologize. We may have political differences, but I would not resort to a personal attack against them, or anybody for that matter. Just debate the issue, make your points, and if you can't find common ground, agree to disagree and go for an adult beverage. Some of the stuff that gets posted about Bush or Republicans, I find amusing. I figure if you can't laugh at yourself then you take yourself to seriously. I don't believe any American President, and I don't care what side of the isle they're on, goes to war for sinister means. The cost is just too high. It's healthy to be skeptical about government. I just think you have to be an idiot to run for President in the first place, or maybe a glutton for punishment, because it is a thankless job at best.

Just remember nobody hates war more than the soldier. I want them home too, but the times I've had the opportunity to talk with them about it, most say they want to finish the job. Again I apologize if my statement offended anyone. Have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

PS. About the sig. I was at a bar the other night and some inebriated twenty-something female came over to our table, because I had a McCain in '08 button on my bomber jacket. Anyhoo after I was berated and called what I think were swear words about warmongers and evil corporations and how evil and racist Republicans are for a better part of a half hour. I simply explained to her I was not a Republican but a Conservative. I think I caught her off guard and she didn't know what to say so she turned around and went back to her friends. After what probably was about another 30 minutes, and lo and behold here she comes back. Now I'm an evil Conservative and whatever expletive she could call me. I was ignoring her same as before and it must have pi$$ed her off. She reaches over the table to, I think to grab the button off the jacket, when my lady friend gets up as she is leaning over the table and smashes her head face first into the table. I'm thinking at this point, Not Good. Her friends came over and picked her up and apologized for the trouble and left. So now my lady friend calls me the Evil Conservative as a joke.

The posters are for the people that say if you do not agree that global warming is settled science, then you're akin to denying the Holocaust. Not my words, but Al Gore's. Who by the way, stands to make millions, if not billions off of this. However 33,000 scientists, many from the same UN report he touts, are angered that it was used as a vehicle for an environmental socialism agenda that he profits from, disagree with Mr. Gore.

Sorry about the long post.

Yes, it is a cartoon, but no, it is not designed to be funny; it is designed to make you think. Perhaps you disagree with its message, and that is fine or at least subject to debate, but I do not find it to be classles. It certainly does not mock dead soldiers; i would suggest it morns their loss. Perhaps some don't take it that way because they want to assign evil intentions to those that disagree with them politically, but I believe that was the intent of it. It is time for conservatives (not pointing to anyone in particular) to accept that liberals morn the loss of soldiers too. Believe it or not, you don't have a monopoly on respect for the military.

The cartoon is more of a satirical look at how two different sides view and define 'morality'. And I am fully aware that satire is lost on more people than find it amusing.

I will bump it a slight step further. It also has some reference to where the stereotypical conservative attitude is that sex is the most evil and vile thing in the world, and the stereotypical liberal view is that mass violence is.

I find it ironic that the 'conservatives' are pro military, pro war, pro death penalty, and screw the poor, they tend to profess a deep belief is a religion that claims to be about peace, and loving thy neighbor. Where the 'liberals' tend to push for more things that are tied with the morals the Bible preaches the most about.

As to the global worming posters, any 'science' that has conclusions based on a 'consensus' is not real science. Scientists do not come to a consensus, one, or a group, prove a theory, and no other scientist can prove it wrong. And anyone who links anything other than genocide to the holocaust, is pulling out a phrase for political play, and fear mongering. Given the planet has been on some sort of warming trend since the ice age, jumping to the end of the world preaching is more than a bit absurd.

I never claimed I had a monopoly on respect for the military. I just do not want today's soldiers to go through what many of the vets that came back from Vietnam had to endure. I witnessed it first hand when my Uncle came home. If you remember they also called that war immoral.
