The Nebraska Treatment (a plea from a Buckeye fan)

@11W Ohio State is asking fans to wear Scarlet Saturday night for the Nebraska game. You, too Cornhusker fans.

I'm sure we could make that happen.
Lol of course theyre asking us too. We own the sea of red. Asking the opposing team to help fill your stadium with red is really really corny.. and kinda desperate in a way. We don't need other fans to wear red in Lincoln even in big games... we can handle that ourselves just fine. It sounds to me like they are nervous about our traveling army cutting into their stadium dibs.

Why would our fans want to wear the same colors as tOSU's fans? We want our impact to be shown both when our players take the field, and also when viewers are watching on TV.

Wear white or black.

Imagine if notre dame asked all fans to wear white in 2000. Screw that... we're hijacking your stadium.

i think it should be out thing to where black to all opposing games. not many of our opponents secondary colors (in the B1G) are black. there are a lot of red teams, though. i say we stick with black on the road (sans usm and other such schools with such color schemes).

edit: i guess we should just where black to red schools. but only black, no white; everyone wears white.

Looks like Ohio state finally figured out how to achieve the sea of red. They're getting the professionals.

they would have been better off just changing their school colors to red.
Exactly. If you want a red stadium, Ohio state... then sell tickets.
You got it right, OSU always has problems filing their 106k seat stadium :sarcasm

Nebraska isn't the only fan base that travels well.

yes, i know osu has no problems filling their stadium...

my point is... husker fans don't travel all over the country to blend in with the home crowd. thats just rediculous.

wear some white or black then.

I say wear the red. The shoe is architecturally similar to our stadium and if it's packed with red, our players may feel more at home.......on second thought, it seems like we tend to play better on the road. Maybe a maize and blue color scheme is the way to go.

I would suggest that you not do that. 8pm, college campus, Saturday night, drunks everywhere.....

No need to worry. No true Husker fan would be caught dead wearing meatchicken colors to a game. I like the idea of a red out. I seriously doubt that our fans come anywhere close to making a visible impact in the shoe. Certainly nothing like we did at Notre Dame years ago. I was at that game and I was disappointed their fans so readily sold out. Won't happen with Buckeye fans.

You never know. They said the same about Madison last year, and it was a pretty fair showing. Nebraska fans, especially those from Nebraska, have nothing else. So it's an economical factor as well. We show up ready to pay what it takes to get in. Sometimes it's money the home fan cant turn down.

I have no doubt there will be a great contingent of NU fans there, but you won't take over the shoe, trust me. The shoe is much larger than Notre Dames stadium thus diluting away fans impact. Night games at the shoe are rare and tOSU fans get very excited about them.
