Sam McKewon has the by-line, but he refers to "we" in the article, so I'm presuming several of the staff contributed.

Here's their top six. The article has brief descriptions of several other guys. It's amazing how many guys took snaps behind center in the past 13 seasons.

Taylor, Tommy or Adrian? Ranking every Nebraska quarterback in the Big Ten era

1. Taylor Martinez

2. Tommy Armstrong

3. Adrian Martinez

4. Tanner Lee

5. Casey Thompson

6. Ron Kellogg III

I agree that Taylor was clearly #1. The guy was lightning in a bottle and a threat to take it to the house every play. For funsies, here's some highlights.

I'd put Adrian over Tommy, but it's close and I understand their argument. I'd put Casey Thompson over Tanner Lee. Lee single-handedly lost several games for us.

I'd agree with you. I think it's a spicy take to put Adrian over Tommy, but I also think that Adrian was the only talented player Nebraska had on offense for a lot of his tenure here - until Toure showed up to help ease the pressure on him. Adrian was in charge of an inept offense - he was the teams best QB and best RB - and was being coached by a staff that was out of its depth.

Tommy was a really good player but had a much better team around him. It's very close and it's hard to tell if the teams get better or worse if you switch Adrian and Tommy around on their respective teams.

I LOVED TM, his completion % was way better than dorky fans pretend it was, dude was tough as nails.

I said when he was finished that as time went out he would be remembered more fondly by fans and that is starting to come true.

Bo though is still not remember as well as he should be but that will change too.

In the other thread I put Tommy as 2A and Adrian as 2B. I think Adrian is notably better than Tommy in terms of the raw talent and ability as a runner and a passer, but obviously suffered under (and contributed to in his own ways) new lows of ineptitude and losing. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to compare talent vs wins or ability vs heart and leadership but each was a great and gritty player for us. It's interesting that Tommy seems to be the only one that gets remembered with rose colored glasses while the others' are often remembered with a more critical outlook.

I get this impression, too. And it's odd, because I remember a lot of fan fury for losses due to his recklessness with the ball while he was playing. But people seem to have forgotten that, and he's almost never brought up when people talk about poor QB play.
