The Piesman Finalists

That's awesome! You gotta like an award that gives props to the big guys who generally toil in anonymity.

But, 63 lineman candidates, and not one of them from Nebraska.

Didn't we have any lineman on the OL or DL make a play worthy of this list? (It's for the best non-lineman play by a lineman.)

I am 100% in favor of the Piesman becoming a regular thing. And for having a Husker candidate every year.

I wonder if Suh would have been a finalist after scoring on the pick-six against Colorado in 2008?

Thought that Alex Lewis chasing down the Purdue defender to save the touchdown would have made the list. Then again that play did start with a high snap

I thought you were going to say Alex Lewis hitting the Miami player out of bounds - now that was a play worth remembering

Think of all of the great OL from Nebraska - regular winners of the Outland and Remington (named after the NU player we all know) trophies and we see how far we have fallen in recruiting great lineman. When was our last All American OL ?? - Toniu Fonoti, Offensive Guard, 2001 (Hauula, Hawaii)

This is why we haven't won a CC or a NC since 1999 - OL play is the key to running the ball and passing. Hard to do either with ineffective line play. This should be priority # 1 wt D line # 2. Control the lines of scrimmage and you control the game 9 times out of 10.

Didn't he play as a fullback on goal-line plays a couple of times, too?
