One was called the Big 8 the other was the SW Conference. The SWC imploded and The Big 8 took pity and allowed several SWC teams to join what would become The Big 12 Conference (or more appropriately The University of Texas League). Last night ISU was hosed by the Refs who all obviously live in Dallas/Houston/ and Arlington. This happened once before when the Refs hosed Nebraska in the Conference Championship game. Since then several teams have left the conference and the only Big 8 teams that are left are 1 real team, 1 occasionsional real team and 3 perianal weak sisters. It is time for the world of college football to realize that UT needs to be shunned by the world of college conferences and banished to the realm of independents. F'em.

they are getting their punishment. The status of the Big 12 is slipping, their profile in the first week of December is nonexistent. A&M is surging and winning recruiting battles. The LHN sux. The Red River Rivalry will be the next thing to lose status. :devil They are a victim of their own vanity.

They ARE richer than ever, though. Guess money can't buy everything.

 
IIRC, we got hosed just as bad in that last aTm game. So it's a Texas thing. Not just a Whorns thing. But I do agree with this part: f#*k 'em!

 
I really try not to revel in their downfall, although have to admit that was a fun game to watch even if you were hoping like I was that ISU would win it, Hating them doesnt change anything about em though or how they feel about themselves

Love the attitude and fight of that ISU team- Rhodes is excellent fit there- Mac was great there too.

Texas really overplayed their hand, forcing A&M out and now A&M is a juggernaught in the SEC and with the enrollment, facilities, coaching and $$$ they have. Texas no longer just selects who they want, A&M is the first choice of many- who want to play in the SEC. It's going to be really tough for Texas to get back to top dog in Texas status. Sherman set the table, moving to the SEC along with getting Sumlin was the "perfect storm" to tipping over the Texas canoe.

Until youve lived there, I have- you dont really get, many of them really do think $$$ solves all

In '08 they wouldn't flag Tech and in '09 they not only wouldn't flag them but were flagging us for BS. Can't remember if it was the infamous Burke crew for both of those or not. Geez I hope OU goes deliverance on the horns in the RRS.

 
There are no independent refs, they work for a conference. Independents get hosed all the time unless we happen to play the refs rival (read Big East refs in East Lansing). Texas likes having a manageable Big12 schedule and all the power in the conference.
